Steelhead will be displaying works of art created by patients through the Providence Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital Arts in Healing Program. This program promotes the arts as a means of expression for healing trauma patients and has been proven to be highly effective. The Steelhead Bar and Grille promotes local artists throughout the year and, since this program helps to inspire future artists, as well provide an immediate purpose for health and well-being, we participate in the Soup for the Soul program during the month of October to help raise funding to support their program. Typically, the Soup for the Soul program takes place every Wednesday through October, however, The Steelhead Bar and Grille, along with our other restaurants affiliated with Nelson+Phelps Hospitality has chosen to raise money through the sale of our house-made soups for the entire month, not just on Wednesdays. The Soup for the Soul program takes place no matter what. Our one specific venue (Steelhead) has chosen to also have an exhibit of the artwork as a means to acknowledge the patients, their progress, talent, and the value of that program.
